MG ZS EV
Hi Everyone,

I have a ZS EV SR, and it’s my first time charging it, I’m trying to set the max charge to 80% from 100% on the MG app, but each time I change it, it flips back to 100% and pops up failed!

I thought i would change from the menu in the car but I don’t seem to have the option to change it.

Anyone else have this issue or know how to resolve it, it’s not a big problem as I don’t mind charging it up to 100% but not sure why it’s not changing.

Thanks I’m advance.

From other threads it appears the ZS EV SR does not have the ability to alter charge percentage. This is probably due to the lithium iron phosphate battery balancing issues that Tesla have recently experienced. Hence MG have disabled this function.

Oh, ok, at least I’m not going mad.

I suppose I could just change my charge time to just take to 80% if needed,

It’s just strange when your at 100% and you don’t get the KERS kick in.

Yep. I think MG Dealers need to make customers aware especially if this limitation is going to be permanent.

Maybe we should not be charging Standard Range ZS EV to 100%....see link below

That article explains why Tesla recommends something that battery chemists don't. Thanks for posting.
