Hi all, we had our telematics box changed due to an issue with the ecall system. Since then, we havent been able to use the app and the location shows the car dealership from over a week ago
Any ideas?
Any ideas?
Do we think there is an actual physical simcard in the unit somewhere. ?Yes there is a sim card. I believe it is on the Vodafone network, but I could be mistaken.
Our MKii car spent far too long rectifying this issue - they replaced the aerial on the top of the car, the wiring looms behind the dash and updated the TBox software. Either the Telecombox software or the wiring loom fixed the issue. HTHs.Its back in the dealership this morning. Tried unbinding/binding, clearing cache while there but nothing worked. They said they are going to try updating the software in the infotainment system and run diagnostics.
It does seem like the car isnt communicating with the app so hopefully they will find it quickly. Out of interest, does the telematics box have a sim card in it? I was tempted to press the emergency call button to see if that was working.
Thanks, its back to communication between the dealer and mg again. Wonder where the old tbox is, maybe they could update the software on that.Yes. That's what they told me anyway.
Thanks for jumping in on this. Can i ask something, when you open the app, does the last updated field show when the tbox was changed or prior to that?I've had this issue since my tbox was changed over a year ago, its been to the garage 5 times for it and they haven't been able to solve it so far. Its currently with them at the moment, been with them for a month and they haven't sussed it yet but they said they have a case open with MG to work on it. If your garage finds a solution i'd be keen to know!
Super news, what is the FICM? I will point them to this thread when its back in on MondayJust got the car back today with the issue fixed. They had to raise it to MG China, the app developers got involved and released an app update last week. That combined with force updating the TBOX and FICM resolved the issue. I chatted with the technician at the garage who sorted it, he said just with the mobile app update it did not work, he had to force update those two modules to make it work. They were showing as the latest version so wouldn't have normally updated, but as soon as he force updated them, it worked.
