Tesla charging for ZS Long range

What I did yesterday was open the app select the charger number then plugged in the charging cable after a minute it started to charge, but my first attempt failed because I plugged in the charging cable first.

Ah that may be it. Although I think the app says plug it in first , so I did that. Thanks I’ll give it a go.
Why are things always so difficult . It just a charger with a defined protocol everyone should follow. It should be seamless. This is one of the reasons there is friction to adoption of EV. Amongst many other fundamentals , such as cost of public chargers.
