The new MGS6 12v battery is in the boot, is there easy access in case of 12v failure?

I'm looking closely at the MGS6, I like it's size and quite a lot of extra kit over my S5, but one thing is concerning me is access to the 12v auxiliary battery placement in the boot, instead of under the bonnet in my S5, having had the dreaded 12v failure albeit my own fault and needing to set the small jump starter kit in action with 100% success.
Is there access to the 12v Auxiliary battery in the boot without 12v power?

That's a good point!

It'll be the same as with any other car with a similar set-up presumably. You will have to use the mechanical key in the fob to enter the driver's door. You will then need to be agile enough to mechanically open the rear doors and or clamber into the back to fold the rear seat(s) down. I think there may be a mechanical emergency release mechanism to open the boot so you don't have to do everything from within the boot space.

Needs further investigation, as modern 12-volt batteries do have a habit of 'just failing'. Has happened to two of our ICEs in the last 10 years. I suppose a good (12 V) battery monitoring app might be considered essential.

Right... Google throws up the following info (but AI Google frequently confuses MGS6 with MG6 and IM6, so info might be wrong).

AI Overview

Based on the available information for the MG S6 EV (2025/2026 model), the emergency boot release is designed for safety and is typically located inside the trunk area
.
  • Location: The emergency release is inside the boot, usually near the latch mechanism on the lid itself.
  • Appearance: It is a glow-in-the-dark, T-shaped handle or pull cord designed to be visible in total darkness.
  • How to Access: Fold down the rear seats to crawl into the trunk space and pull the handle to bypass the lock, even if the car has zero power.

I'll investigate later today whether this is correct info... unless anyone else chimes in and says yea/nay.

On physical inspection, I'd say Google AI has got it wrong about the 'glow-in-the-dark, T-shaped handle'.
The attachment shows a cover near the locking mechanism. There is a faint image of a car on it, which I didn't notice without my glasses on, otherwise I'd have a obtained a more decent photo. Unclip the cover and pull presumably. Might need the physical key to help prise it off. My cold fingers couldn't manage it, though I didn't try too hard to be fair.

I don't trust AI all the time, it's proved to be wrong on numerous occasions for me, especially when searching MG INFORMATION.
I'm approaching 78 and although still pretty fit and agile, I don't want to be scrambling into a boot full of shopping or suitcases to get at the 12v battery, my S5 is very easily accessible, my guess is, they've moved the battery location to accommodate the Frunk.
