Seems strange they didn't pick the X-Power given that most of the others in the test were the top-of-the range offerings?

Probably wouldn't have changed the outcome but having driven both the ER & X-Power back-to-back, the X-Power is undoubtedly more fun.

As usual a strange selection, not choosing the fun version in each models range. So the Cupra should not have been the VZ and the R5 should not have been the Alpine. Or to look at it another way the MG4 should have been an XPower and the Mini a JCW.

They also missed out the obvious Ioniq 5 N which is the most "You're having a laugh" EV out there at the moment

I think it's just lazy journalism - they were obviously the cars/models they could get hold of easily and fancied a road trip. As above, i5N glaring omission - almost wonder if they were sponsored by Renault/Alpine and so didn't want to include anything that might challenge for the top spot..........
