Thoughts on warning noises

There’s no ride adjustment - standard passive dampers fitted.

Steering is changed to Sport mode with a separate selection - weights up the steering.

Throttle response is much sharper. Fuel/energy consumption only changes over Normal if you press your right foot down more!
I think it stays in the lower gear longer in sport mode as well.

Had mine for nearly 2 weeks now and I can honestly say the only warning sound I turn off is the speeding one. I live in London with lots of 20mph areas and it gets irritating, but the other bings and bongs many reviewers have gone on about just don’t happen.

Do you wear glasses for driving?

Hi Amun, no I don’t, occasionally sunglasses but even then I’ve not had any problems.
It seems that glass wearers can have the most problems - certainly it makes a huge difference in mine. It doesn't like my polarised sunglasses at all, but copes a bit better with my plain ones. Seems a total waste of time to me, so it's turned off every drive, along with the speed warning bongs. As the car can't reliably recognise the speed limit signs, it's pointless.

Definitely the speed limit recognition can be a “little” off sometimes. But I’m not sure if these problems are common with other manufacturers too. It’s still an absolute pleasure to drive and a lovely place to be, hopefully I’ll be saying the same in 12 months time.

I'm not denigrating the HS - we're very pleased with our PHEV. The speed recognition problems seem common in MGs - our MG5 used to be the same and our current MGS5 is a bit better, but not reliable. It may be better in towns, but we live rurally. I doubt that they're any better in other makes, though.
