We had ours for 3 months, over 8000kms, and experience all the same niggles. Not sure how long we'll keep it or what would replace it.
That said, I can't find anything else I'd rather own that drives as well, is RWD, similar size, as comfortable, with the same long warranty and at a similar price point.
Absolutely agree with all the annoying gremlins, big BUT though, the S5 is one of the nicest cars to drive, it's very comfortable, giving none of the aches and pains of recent other cars I've owned, like Volvo, Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Superb and Passat, now 3 months in, 2 trips to the main dealer for poor performing ACC, (not fixed) but I've found a way around most of the niggles, like not using the shit auto dipping headlights and reverting to use them in the time honoured fashion of dipping with the steering wheel stalk. and at a bargain basement price of £24 grand.
I'm not convinced there's anything to beat the value for money, plus it goes like furk when you floor the loud pedal.

One thing I would have liked is being able to see the 12v battery condition on the app, it was on my MG4, so why the furk it isn't on the S5, I've just ordered a Bluetooth battery tester, but that's no good for checking when we are on holiday and the car is at an airport car park.

I think its a false narrative to start talking about would you have paid x amount extra for the car to work as advertised :)

I think you sell a car with a number of features for x price and then you expect it to work for the price.

There is a danger I come across as really not liking the MG. I do like it. Its a huge upgrade on what it replaced. But it does have a lot of flaws and poor implementation of features that work fine on my other car. Its been a good start on my EV journey but next time I think I would go for a brand I know and trust more. That will come at a more expensive price point for sure.

I totally agree.
This has been mentioned before, but I can’t understand WHY the S5 does not have a
12 volt battery status report, on the health check included in the App.
The ZS EV had it ???.
It surely must be an oversight, it can’t be that hard to include it surely 🤷🏻.

I'm in the same position, seriously considering trying to hand my vehicle back. My MG journey did not start well, the dealer broke my first one at delivery time with a software update and there were a few paint work issues. I rejected the car and got it replaced with another one, the current 2nd car has got many issues, one being pretty serious intermittent vibration, initially thought it was the tires which were not lined up to spec from factory (dots aligned with valves), this was sorted but issue remains and very worrying. Lots of rattles, some fixed when they had vehicle for tire issues. Some still remain and are driving me nuts. Washer jets, these do not hit the windscreen but squirt onto below the windscreen and the spray from that then goes onto window. Aligned by the dealer but still no where near the screen. Terrible software, door rubbers creaking, one touch windows should be standard in 2025? Auto headlights, DAB Radio reception (or lack of), Android Auto (had to go wired only as was terrible) dropped calls, auto light and dark mode with both screens, phantom braking, lack of just normal bog standard cruise control (not auto), front parking sensors,
The dealer is the worst and i swore i would never use them again after a previous terrible experience with their post sales after care (Arnold Clark) however i knew the sales person and promised everything was very different (lies all lies), they have now had my car 3 times for these and other issues, with the third time kept it for a week and did zero to it during its time there. Anyway, currently looking at my options to hand the vehicle back, seriously wish i had not taken the plunge, it does drive nicely and has good range.

Sounds like there are multiple manufacturing issues with your car mate.
Hope you get them sorted 🤞
