Time taken for software update

I updated every module on my se sr. Started around 10am and finished around 5pm. Granted I was going overboard doing everything. It is not a nice process..

The usb bit not too bad. SIPS is slow and there is a tendency for it to fail, repeatedly.

How many times does your car get a software upgrade? Once a year, maybe twice? So what if it takes a few hours? Go have coffee or a nice long lunch, make a trip out of the event.

I left my motorcycle with my dealer for 3 days for my annual service (included software updates and alot more), 100 miles away from home, booked a nice apartment and made a nice trip out of it, had a fantastic time, great food, great culture. The service ended up being a non-event as it happened while I was having a great experience.
Ahh. So you were expecting it to take that amount of time and could plan accordingly? Got you.

I though the update was by USB stick, so they should have the file already downloaded ? 🤔
Only Infotainment and TBOX are partly updated with USB, the rest of the modules is updated over OBD with the SIPS Software. For Infotainment and TBOX additional updates beside the USB Update will be done via SIPS.
