Trailer tent?

Hi,

Coming to the end of a camping trip in our MG5 Trophy where we just about got everything in the boot, roof box and around the children! We've been toying with the idea of a trailer tent for next year but a couple of things are holding us back:

1. Charging on long journeys. Most chargers wouldn't be practical with a trailer, so we'd probably have to unhitch, leave the trailer to charge and come back to it. This feels a bit much

2. The range effect of a trailer tent - as if it has a big impact it'll make the hassle of #1 above even more annoying.

Any real world experiences of trailer tents (or long journeys with a trailer) gratefully received. From searching it looks like @Jerry is pulling a trailer tent with a ZS (and welcome your views on the above!) But not sure about anyone doing the same with an MG5.

Are the facelift models rated for towing? The PFL models aren't.

Thanks for the reply. I believe they're rated up to 500kg - previously had a PFL that was not.

Commenting to see replies, I've been considering a tow bar for bike racks but wasn't sure if this impacts warranty etc. I also have a facelift 5
