We've had our GT model for nearly 3 months and covered about 1200 miles. I've become irritated by what I'd describe as a 'transmission whine' towards the rear which is obvious when gently coming off the accelerator between 25 to 30 MPH. I'm not sure if it's getting worse, but I'm certainly noticing it more often.

It makes no difference what level of regeneration is selected, nor is it anything to do with the Bose engine simulation sound generation, which is currently off. Neither does it make a difference whether we use Sport or Comfort mode.

Does anyone else suffer this nuisance? Can anyone please confirm that their GT doesn't have this whine?

I have had my Cyberster Trophy for 1 year now and I was only thinking today whilst out in it that there is a whine from the rear in the same circumstances that you have just mentioned, I am sure when I first got it that this was not the case.

I have a GT that started to make a whine just before we got onto the motorway a few weeks ago, I carried on with the journey at around 70mph and the sound disappeared after about 10 miles. I wondered whether something got wrapped around the drive shaft and worked its way off. If it is not going then I guess you need a visit to the garage. My experience of MG dealers is that they are inexperienced so hope they can resolve. Let us know the outcome, good luck.

It's booked into our local dealer at the end of the month, although primarily to have one of the door position sensors replaced. However they've agreed to also investigate this whine while it's there.
