I've been really smug with my EV and solar, only paying for a charge once, plus a few bucks when clouds briefly blocked the sun.
Today I was getting ready to start charging - just waiting for enough sun, when I discovered my MG4 was already charging, and had already imported 12kWh. WHAT? I turned it off last sunset.
Welp. Turns out I use the app to control charging, leaving my charger connected and powered on, but not feeding the battery. I had a 2 min blackout overnight, and when the power came on. Charging reacted as though I'd powered it up - effectively I had - and happily charged away.
Not a real problem, and inexpensive, but I'm still miffed.
I'll be switching off at the plug from now on.
