any experience of using public chargers please, what cards? Cost? Any other helpful advice

I am planning a few days holiday in France. I have a Type 2 3 phase cable and I assume finding and using EV chargers won’t be much different from UK but paying for a charge seems to be a minefield. I would like to just pay with a normal credit card or maybe my Octopus Electric Universe Card but...

There’s an EV travelling in France forum that has all the advice needed. Chargemap card, Octopus Electroverse card etc.Crit air badge etc.

Sorry no idea how to copy a link - I did try various ploys without success. I am not into Facebook but this forum comes up somehow On the homepage along with MG EV Owners forum.

Which European chargers have you had problems with?

As well as chargers you may want to consider getting a Liber-t tag from Emovis for the French motorways.

IONITY. Both UK and Europe. Tesla open chargers didn’t like MG.
Good experience with Fastned.

Chargemap Card was a must have, really useful.

Toll Roads are good so consider Bip and Go Tag.

Tesla superchargers open to all south of Lyons.

Service Stations a bit like ours, hit and miss.

Tough leads adapter useful if you can charge with 2 pin plug .

Have you downloaded the app? The map shows usable chargers in France.
