Had a worrying situation on my journey this lunchtime.

Listening to a podcast via bluetooth and it is very quiet so I held the joystick in the up position to raise the volume.

Anyway, the button got stuck so it was pushing the volume upwards (max is apparently 32) for the entire 40 minute journey.

I didn't bother stopping and resetting or anything because I needed it on full anyway in order to hear the terrible quality podcast.

The good news is that it didn't happen on the return journey or when driving this evening.

However, it get me worried it would happen again or that it is a sign of an impending failure of the joystick or something.

Has anyone experienced joystick/volume issues?

Yes, some time ago. If I pressed up it would run all the way to max and if I pressed down it would run all the way to zero. I can't remember what I did about it. Maybe rebooted the infotainment screen? Hasn't happened again, anyway.

I've experienced this occasionally . The only way I've got it to stop is to reboot the infotainments system. Once i've done that it's behaved itself for two/three months.

I reported this in my 1100R33 thread (I think - may have been the 1100R38 one). The workaround (if at max volume) is to tap up again once And then tap down repeatedly until you get the volume level you desire. (Vice versa if at min volume). If you hold down then you'll just auto-scroll to minimum and be back in the same issue cycle.

Yes it is counter-intuitive (to raise the volume again when at max/lower again when at min), but that's what works. :)
