Hi I notice that the new model has this so you can use it when camping and caravaning to supply power. ( and also for home power cuts if you keep the amperes down to a minimum). Do you think we could retro fit this on the 2021/ 2022 models?? Sounds a great asset. Is it as easy as finding a 250volt supply in the car and connecting a socket? Know the battery is 400 volts so would we need a step-down transformer to change voltage and DC to AC????

Hi, I think you have the wrong power output.
The new MG5 can do V2L which is a lot lower power. You need an adaptor for the Type2 on the front of the car. Check out the ZS threads as they already do it

It's an important distinction.
The car will do V2L which is stand-alone.
V2H (or more correctly V2G) infers the ability to phase and voltage synchronise.

As above, also beware the need to isolate the circuits from the mains and to provide an appropriate Earth.

Arguably it is just a firmware and software issue, but I bet that it will not work.
