Vandalised chargers

@Coulomb, the kit has stainless steel bands to fit it to the cable you are protecting. Then they have fitted an outer sock that has built in velcro so that it can be attached to an existing cable. This is held on more permanently with tywraps, and the addition of an armouring clamp where the cable exits the equipment. All of this adds weight to an already large cable and unwieldy cable.
It won't stop the determined, or thieves that are prepared, but it will certainly be messy. It just makes it far more time consuming, and more likely to be able to get a good image on CCTV.
The same company makes a similar kit for catalytic converter protection, which is flat rather than tabular.

If they sited the chargers in well lit areas that could easily be seen and had CCTV there might be fewer stolen cables.
Which goes back to what Mrs S says about us being second class citizens compared to ICE drivers. No lights, no canopy, just stuck in a dark corner with no thought for security.
Never mind security of the equipment, Mrs S has felt distinctly uneasy charging on her own in the dark in some of these out of the way places.
