Software is the only thing I can think of.

Most of us are on the stock R31 version, there is an updated R34 version which gives some nice shortcuts for disabling the safety sounds and apparently does a little update for the speakers.

The ONLY thing I’d say is a must is getting confirmation that the car has had its 1st service and that was registered with MG. You can check yourself if you get the VIN but without it, all of the warranty can be void so it’s a must.

A few simple things. I won't repeat what has been said already.

Any squeaks / noises with the top down. If you are alone in the car, fasten the passenger seatbelt (it can knock against the side). Mine is silent like this. Listen for creaks / groans - not motor whine.

With the roof up, all soft tops have a little creaking of the roof. If it is loud / grindy, that is not good.

Look for uneven tyre wear. If the surface is pretty uniform, that is a good sign. Extra outside wear, especially at the front indicates the previous owner drove " enthusiastically"
