Having done all the numbers I'm now ready to buy a long range exclusive. Anyone know any dealers that have one on the affinity deal? Had a quote a couple of weeks ago of £21,500.

Thanks in advance

You won't get a new long range exclusive for that price. Even when they launched they cost more than that. Affinity is only for new cars. Haven't seen a used long range exclusive that cheap either.

You'll have to wait for the facelift as you can't place a factory order now, MG have stopped selling them.

You'll have to find a dealer who has a spare one coming in I suspect ??

The salesman at Charles Warner MG dealer in Lincoln has 6 MG5's LR on order 5xExclusive and 1xExcite.
He has been told by MG he will definitely get them, but he can't order any more only the facelift model.
Two weeks ago he hadn't been given a build date.

Might be worth a try, I can't see anyone selling for that price at the minute even on affinity.

As per the thread title if you are looking for an M5 perhaps you should check out BMW forums??

More seriously, if you were quoted £21.5k for a brand new MG5 long range then buy buy buy! It is about £4k less than the current affinity price for that model and is a complete no brainer.

Unfortunately I suspect the dealer has made a mistake and you will not actually be able to achieve that price. Please let us know how you get on.

Before Christmas the affinity price for the LR MG5, excite trim, after the 2.5k government grant was just under 23k. No chance of a new LR MG5 for 21.5k then, or especially not now I'm afraid as the affinity discount and grant are both reduced

Just to clarify..... Looking at an exclusive, the on the road price the customer, using Affinity, would now pay is £27,884? That price is after both affinity and the UK grant has been applied?

That being the case the £24.6k ish lots of us paid last summer/autumn when the LR was being launched seems a very keen price indeed.

Yep. Both discounts have been cut now. I ordered an exclusive after to government grant got cut, but before the affinity scheme was also cut, my transaction price was £26.2k, which I was a bit miffed about, but glad I did now.

Also MG put up prices on 1st Jan for the MG5 by about £500.

So price of an MG5 went up by £1000 when the grant cut, £500ish in Jan and then about £1500 cut off the affinity grant.

I've been following closely as I went to place an order the day after the government cut the grant ☹️

Thanks for clarifying.

I wonder what price the facelift is going to be?

And also the MG4?

Did you still order one? Or are you holding fire for the moment? Or did you order something else entirely?
