The Warranty given by mg, what exactly does that cover if the car goes up in flames because the battery has got a fault do they replace the car, the insurance companies have gone very expensive because of claims through battery fires I can't see that, that is applicable when the manufacturers give a seven year warranty on the car what the hell is going on.

Warranty and insurance are different things. If your car goes up in flames that is an insurance claim. The insurance company could theoretically sue the manufacturer if they could demonstrate negligence in the design or manufacture of the car, but if they did it wouldn't involve you.

Insurance rates going up on EV's has little or nothing to do with battery fires, which are extremely rare. It has more to do with parts cost and availability leading to a higher rate of write-offs of expensive cars.
