There's obviously been a lot of wet weather recently but discovered quite a wet patch in passenger footwell. Did my best to soak it up and its going to be one i have to keep an eye on but thought id raise it so others could check. Thankfully my wife noticed but we can't yet work out where water got in and how much of a worry it should be. Doubt its through my undertray bulge but who knows! Top of footwell is dry. Pic attached.

Can't rule it out although was quite a lot of wet and ringing out of cloth so you would have thought it would have been obvious if so. As i say may be a time will tell thing but if anyone normally drives alone it might be worth a casual check. Fingers crossed its user error and not an issue for others

Yes - I’ve seen a few posts where owners inadvertently left a window slightly down. Worth checking this first. Modern cars are pretty watertight these day.

Also, check the rubber seal around the door. I found there’s a triangle of rubber near the door hinge that should be clipped into the bodywork directly in front of the door mirrors but on the inside of the door. Mine was folded back on itself. I pushed it into place and it gave a satisfying click as it went into place. I suspect that could be a way for water to enter and it’s the same fitting on both front doors.

Can see how thats possible. Only thing with that is i would have expected to see wet on door too.

Good tip. I'll check in the light tomorrow 👍

The car will have drain holes at various points around the body - the scuttle panel is the part that runs underneath the windscreen. At this time of year drain holes can get clogged with leaves etc - it’s unlikely but a possible cause worth checking. You can lift the bonnet yourself and check that there is nothing in there that could block drainage.

Don't forget to put the wipers in service mode, or you might chip the paint on the Bonet. I believe how to set the service mode is in a thread on here.

Isn’t that just for when you want to lift the wiper arms? I thought you could raise the bonnet without touching the wipers.

We've got serious damp issue 2 month old ev5 in foot well of front of car , I think there is definitely a fault .. it's been damp for ages and isn't drying out. Constant misted up windows . I think there must be a fault somewhere and need to find out how to resolve

There's no doubt the wet carpets are causing the misting.I had a similar problem with my old Ford Escort van many years ago as water was coming in at the top of the bulkhead, to such an extent that after heavy rain it used to cause a mini tidal wave on accelerating and braking!

Get it back to the dealer sooner rather than later. They should strip out trims etc and find out what happening. You don’t want to leave damp in the car for a long period of time.
