)
Och aye that’s when you needed a wee squelch to clear the poor reception.Don't you mean "Negatory, good buddy..."?
If we weren't talking CB, that would probably have a different meaning.Roger that, good buddy.![]()

We had a Tandy in Bury ,which I used to frequent as a teenager thinking what could I do with all those circuit boards , transistors and resistors. I usually left with a couple of batteries .Another blast from the past. I used to work at Tandy Corporation, (the English name for Radio Shack) and we sold CB's among other things electronic. So long ago now I have forgotten the brands.

Maybe we should turn this thread into "reminiscing for old people"... you bring back memories for me too as a young teenager (maybe a bit before that) with my first electronics kit from Tandy - like this one...Another blast from the past. I used to work at Tandy Corporation

You must have been one of the spoilt kids, we didn't get anything like that, bought a heap of project board, used a blade in the scalpel holder thing to cut the copper away to form a circuit, soldered wires and components and bit of legs we cut off components ..... and more often than not, a second trip to get more components because we damaged those ones .... or cut the legs too shortMaybe we should turn this thread into "reminiscing for old people"... you bring back memories for me too as a young teenager (maybe a bit before that) with my first electronics kit from Tandy - like this one... LOL - that was just the start of an interest in electronics... oh believe me, I've done it all - re-using components from radios and old pixie tube calculators, etching blank pcb's with ferric chloride and (much to the annoyance of my dad) breaking numerous 1mm drill bits when drilling out those hand-made pcb's! those were the daysYou must have been one of the spoilt kids, we didn't get anything like that, bought a heap of project board, used a blade in the scalpel holder thing to cut the copper away to form a circuit, soldered wires and components and bit of legs we cut off component
