Not an MG
I have been researching buying an MG3 Hybrid for a while and there seem to be four main options, which would you go for? I will add that I have not had a brand new car for 22 years and there is a certain appeal to driving something that nobody else has put their kids, dogs, takeaways, garden waste, smoked in or wiped their bogies and dead skin on the steering wheel.

1)Buy secondhand. I found this 2024 car with 7500 miles for £13,550. I really wanted a 2025 car due to the split rear seats and steering wheel adjustment, but this does seem great value

2)Buy a pre registered car, I found this one for £15,995. I did find one for £15,495 last week, but that has since sold.

3)Buy a brand new one through car wow. I would be the first owner, but it is likely to cost me around £17500. Tempted to put £7K down and then do a PCP for four years which would be about £70 a month with a £9Kish balloon payment.

4)Lease one for two years. Through AA it is a £1,860.92 deposit and then £155.08 a month with a £299 fee. I could then leave the cash in my ISA which would generate about £60 a month in interest so it would be actually costing me about £100 a month (man maths at it's finest). It also means I don't have to pay road tax.

Or alternatively just wait a year or two in the hope that they depreciate hard and I can pick one up for £10K?

Me personally, and as you've said.
A brand spanking new motor, is great. And a pre-reg is still, brand spanking new.
It's a great feeling picking it up, at the showroom. Me personally I would never lease or pcp. As it's never actually yours. Why wait 2 years, when you want one now. Only my opinion of course.
Good luck. 🙂👍

I agree with Salty, pre-registered seems to be a good option if there are good deals and you can afford the up front cost.

Then you own the vehicle.

I bought my 2025 Trophy new last May on a PCP, so I got £750 deposit contribution from MG. I made one payment on the PCP and then settled the finance. In total the car cost me £19,849.
As Salty says, it's great picking up and driving a brand new car 👍
