Winter charging

Current bes practice is to charge up to 80% unless starting long journey.
This mg article from 2021 says to charge to 100% over winter. I only use my car 3-4 days a week. Rarely a long journey. Is 100% right for all winter regardless of journeys?

• Always try to charge the battery to 100% while charging with AC (normal/slow charging). When charging with DC (fast-charging), it’s recommended to charge the battery to 80%.

It won't open for me but I don't see the logic there. Balancing the battery now and then is a good idea, but what is charging to 100% going to do against the cold?

Maybe they are worried that people will get less range and run short.

Certainly over 80% charge for long periods doesn't help extend the life of the battery.

Charge the battery to whatever level suits you whenever it suits you. As long as you have enough energy to get where you want to go it's all good.The battery will long outlive the car regardless

This is what i currently live by. Charge when convenient!
