Wiper blade size and hook type

Hi,
I am thinking of replacing my wiper blades.
What size should i go for and what hook type can I use?
Looking at Bosch.
Current one is stuttering abit.

Just doing the same and contacted Heyner they confirmed that the wipers are the same as those on the HS. Heyner reference for their hybrid blades is HH2416TL so drivers side is 24” (600mm) passengers side 16” (400mm) with a Top Lock fitting.
Usually use Bosch wipers but thought I would give Heyner a try this time, they responded to my question very quickly and the blades are well priced, will be interesting to see how they perform.

I am looking to swap out the rear wiper, and it's been a total pain. Haven't been able to find anything that fits, and the manufacturer one is way too short - they could have extended it by 1.5 inches to have a proper coverage.

I have found over the years that oem wiper blades are of pretty poor quality and that includes the two Mercedes GLA’s (both owned from new) I’ve had recently. So I have gotten used to upgrading the wipers as a matter of course, that said I thought the wiper blades on the S5 were much better quality than those fitted to my previous ZS.

Having now received and fitted the Heyner blades I can say that initially I’m impressed by the quality feel of them and fitting was extremely easy. Remains to be seen how they perform when we actually get some rain but hopefully will cure the juddering I sometimes experienced with the old blades.

yeah, still trying to see if I can find anything that fits into the hook in the first place. else might even see if I can change out the whole arm kit.

Is the rear wiper not a standard hook? I don't have one on mine. I assumed one could fit any blade so long as it wasn't too long.

Like @riocca I've always replaced OEM blades. I'm a big Bosch product fan, so in the UK the Bosch part codes for replacement blades are:
The 600mm drivers side - AP24U Bosch Aerotwin Plus
The 400mm passengers side - AP16U Bosch Aerotwin Plus

I swapped them over the weekend - easy as can be. That and a coating of RainX and I'm ready for the Scottish autumn.

And no . . I did not find a replacement for the rear. I was thinking about looking at Scalextric or Hot Wheels . . maybe they make one small enough . . .

Jokes aside . . I did not order it (yet) but this appears to be the correct size to fit the rear wiper-

Not that I know of - my previous cars used the u-hook ones.

I agree with you the rear blade needs to be around 50mm longer to sweep the max available glass area and crucially wipe the rear dash cam I've just fitted.
Bosch Rear H180 (the recommend size) is 50mm too short but A230H is 240mm length and would be perfect, but it looks a different hook system, more research needed. Anyone found a correct hook type yet?

unfortunately have not had any luck on that at all. and strangely, even in China I don't seem to be able to find something, and right now, I'm just thinking to see if there's something that can be hacked together for it.

Exactly my thoughts, to see if the complete arm can be changed! I've still got my MG4 until it's picked up by the finance company, I'll take a look at it today and see if it's the same fitting as new MGS5.

The rear wiper blade on my MG4 is identical to my MGS5, I've just taken the 4 blade and arm off, I've taken a few pics of the bits,.
The thread is M8, so at least that is standard, the tapered spline is just under 8mm, so possibly standard taper and spline.
The pics may help others in the search for a 50mm longer blade and possibly replace the entire wiper arm.

I've done a lot of research this morning and found a lot of MG's use the same rear wiper blades, so I've taken the plunge and ordered this Bosch job from Amazon, I may have blown a fiver to help others, but as I'm also mean, if it's wrong, I can return to Amazon and start again.

I agree @salty, for normal circumstances it works just fine on the 4 and the new S5, but because I've fitted the rear dashcam as high as possible on the S5, the wiper doesn’t wipe the crucial area of vision, I've gone to a lot of trouble to get front and rear cams with as little cabling showing as possible, I may as well let it see through a clear bit of rear screen, hence the slightly longer wiper blade (if the b… thing fits!).

Definitely needed to remove the MG4 centre headrest, but the S5 has a bit better vision, but I'll probably remove it as I did with the 4.
