Wiper blade size and hook type

With minor modifications the Bosch H281 (11 inches) works very well. I needed to use a dremel to take about 0.5cm off the end, and made the hole in the centre section of the slightly larger (you can use the original to get the size right) so that it fits snugly in the arm and flat to the glass. Finally I used a small amount of superglue to make sure that the blade doesn't pop out (where I took a small piece off the end) but now I have a blade that reaches just under the rear light in the middle and usage/coverage is perfect.

I guess that the silly little standard fit blade is "adequate", in the way that a tank driver's periscope is "adequate", but anyone with an ounce of mechanical sympathy is going to be highly irritated and asking "WTF did they choose to do that?"

It's like having a chihuahua as a guard dog.

Good effort @gvgaut, but other folks here may not be as handy at DIY.
The Bosch H281 250mm blade I bought fitted perfectly, with the very slight mod as shown and now covers the rear dashcam area without the need to alter the length, hope the superglue doesn't mind rain and frost ☔🤣🤔

I'm really sorry @Joningy, but I don't understand the mod "as shown". You show pictures of the spindle, but the part you recommend is just the blade, so, presumably, the arm remains in place.

Please help out the stupid among us with a simple explanation of what we buy and what we do...

OK, I'll try and explain a bit more @TimothyN .
Just the blade is required, but you can also buy a blade with an arm, but as the required mod is fairly straightforward, that's the route I took.
As the picture shows (thank you @MG Clive ) a small amount of the rectangular hole which the arm fits into needs lengthening by a few mm's to enable a proper fit
I used a Stanley knife.
Ask again if you need more explanation, as I'm sat on a park and ride bus trying to type this 🚍😂

I am obviously too stupid for this. I don't understand whether you bought a new arm or not.

Does "Just the blade is required, but you can also buy a blade with an arm, but as the required mod is fairly straightforward, that's the route I took." mean that you bought the arm, or just the blade?

When you say "As the picture shows (thank you @MG Clive ) a small amount of the rectangular hole which the arm fits into needs lengthening by a few mm's to enable a proper fit"

I don't see a picture from either you or @MG Clive showing a rectangular hole that needs expanding.

I'm beginning to wonder if there are posts on this thread I'm not seeing? I'm not usually this dim.

I'll post it again here @TimothyN, I've already posted in 2 places here, 3rd time lucky!
I only bought the blade, but it needs a minor modification, by cutting out a few millimeters from the area marked on the photo I used a Stanley knife, not much to it, but please be careful with the sharp blade, no partial finger amputation required for this small mod.
I've used my wobbly pic, @MGclive

This is great tip to increase the size of the area cleaned by the rear wiper !.
For anybody who is looking to compare the original factory blade length, to the Bosch H281.
The Bosch H281 blade length at £5.99 is 280mm ( 11” inches ) long according to Amazon.
( not the 250mm as mentioned above ).

If you look carefully at the thread I posted , you will see the blade I used is.

Bosch Wiper Blade Rear H252, which is indeed 250mm long and NOT 280mm, which is too long, the H252 blade is perfect in length with the small mod I outlined.

This is not the best fit for the rear wiper on MG4 AND MGS5, the best fit is Bosch H252 at 250mm, being just 250mm long and needs no shortening, just the minor alterations to the hole which the arm fits into.

Sorry, but why am I getting confused here ?.
In this post above, it appears that the part number quoted is the Bosch blade recommended is the H281🤷🏻.
The spec of this part number blade is 280mm in length ?.

H252 is a best fit @250mm long, H281 is too long by 30 mm and requires the end being reduced in length
If you look at the post end cutting short.
The blade I bought Bosch A252 required only a small mod to the hole/ slot where the arm goes in.
@TimothyN followed my simple mod and he's pleased with it.
Again it's Bosch H252 you need, not H281!!!
