Has anyone had any problems with their wireless carplay disconnecting for like 30 seconds at a time? It usually happens on motorways and roads with not great signal so wondering if it's because of that. It's just very annoying when I'm using waze or google maps to get somewhere and it will disconnect at a crucial point. I might have to go back to wired Carplay although it's more of a pain and I didn't want my battery constantly being charged.

My Quadlock was displaying similar behaviour recently. I checked for software updates but none where available so bought a Carlinkit Mini 5.0 and that has worked flawlessly since. It would certainly appear not all dongles are created equally.

Forgetting the CarPlay connection from my iPhone and then connecting it as if it was a brand new connection did alleviate symptoms for a while, but it didn’t fix is fully.

Mine is a Carlinkit Mini 5.0

Could be the mobile signal dropping out. There's a small section of the entrance into university of Sussex campus that seems to have a deliberate signal jamming effect. My mobile signal gets completely neutralised whenever I drive past it. Takes the car up to 5 mins to reconnect after passing that point. Maybe you just got a bad signal spot. Is it on the same spot that your Carplay drops out?

That's what I'm thinking it is but considering it connects to my phone via a wifi hotspot you wouldn't think that would cause it to dropout like that.

Just bought Carlink mini 5. Did you guys have to change the startup delay for it to
Work or was it good straight out of the package?

I changed mine to 30 seconds as that was needed for my Quadlock, so didn’t even bother not setting the Carlinkit. It’s easy to connect to its own wifi signal, then go to http://192.168.50.2 to access the settings menu.
