I must be lucky with mine. I just put my foot on the brake and the seat moves into my pre saved position (memory 1). If the drivers door is already closed it moves as soon as I hold the break pedal down. If the door is open, I hold my foot on the brake and close the door and the seat moves into my pre saved position. It has worked every time since I have owned the car and set up the memory position.

Just as a note: I had my first fault yesterday. The left camera view appeared on the left screen where the navigation normally is. This is normal behaviour when manoeuvring slowly and indicating. However the picture stayed on the screen so I couldn't see my navigation map. After stopping the car and switching off and restarting a couple of times, I just ended up with the camera image now frozen on the screen. So continuing my journey, I remembered reading somewhere either on these forums of Facebook that someone said holding both steering wheel joysticks down resets the screens, so having stopped at roadworks I took a chance and held both joysticks down for a few seconds and eventually the screens went blank and eventually came back on and normal functionality was restored.

I’ve had that exact fault, luckily it was in an area that I knew but was a pain at the time.

Good to know the joystick reset worked, how long did you hold them for?
I seemed to hold them for ages, but in reality probably about 30 seconds for the screens to go blank. I had just stopped at roadworks traffic lights and was worried I wouldn't manage in time, but it worked OK before the lights changed, so probably a couple of minutes at most.

When my partner drives she uses the preset 1 (it is her car), I am 6'2 and my driving position is beyond the std travel so it is easier to set it when I start and if I get in and out not use the move position.

The Infotainment bombing out is common in many cars, it happens in our VW and our other MG and a few rentals we have had, holding the home button or both joysticks is the way we have found to fix.

The left screen freezing, happened a couple of times, very frustrating, because you can't see your navigation (Android auto) anymore.
You can change this in the settings of the 360 camera menu.

I only have the car like 3 days, and almost had my first damage already. We parked in the hotel garage, next to a pole. I opened my door and the mirror almost hit the pole. I think mirrors should fold when doors open.

Ability to leave drivers side window open to get good ventilation when the car is parked in a garage.

You can set the windows to not shut automatically when you lock the car but the drivers side door window always closes completely (does anyone know how to stop this or open the window remotely?).

I have had soft-tops since the 90s, and my first, an MGF, got green mould on the inside of the hood. Apparently it helps to prevent this if you have good ventilation in the car. I have a garage now and have kept the windows slightly open for ventilation on all my soft-tops since.

What a Show, that would be. Open the roof, then the doors. Then struggle to get in it. 😉🙂👍
Im sure there will be an aftermarket module for this or update, just like there was for locking and mirrors retracting on other older cars. MG should put this in R35. Maybe by clicking to open and hold on the fob. Lowers the windows and opens the roof.

  • don't interrupt charging when unlocking the car with key fob
  • don't activate/slam the brakes when changing from R to D. In my Tesla I'm used to putting it in D while still rolling backwards. That goes very smootly, only using engine brake.

Hell yeah to both

Interesting, just noticed the drivers side window stays open if you leave it half open but not if you leave it open about 10mm (it closes automatically), perhaps more of a software bug then for a wish list.

How about a method to permanently disable the annoying “27th July, Clear and 25 degrees in Torquay, please pay attention to driving safely” message which only starts once the car has established a connection to the cloud (which in my case is usually about a minute after setting off). Its soooo annoying as it interrupts every other function.
