X Power lowering springs now available. ?

I think I've said before, I've held off as not to cloud the vibration issue should MG ever come to a solution???

It would look better without doubt, and I would be doing it purely for aesthetics.

I would also hope it made a bit of difference to the roll experienced in the corners when pushing on.
Agreed. But who knows, the lowering may well cure the vibes, we just don't know. As for MG curing the vibe problem, I have my doubts. A multi-million (perhaps billion) pound company can't seem to solve what seems like a relatively simple problem, with the technology available these days. I wouldn't be holding me breath. But here's hoping. ???

Hello again,
I have been in touch with Euro carparts who are the UK supplier for H&R suspension. H&R have developed a set of lowering springs for the X Power yet none are available in the UK.
After speaking with H&R and ECP head office I am pleased to confirm that UK stock is now ordered & will be available in mere weeks.
Shining a light on our group of almost 12,000 members I was able to secure a discount for members of this forum. Once I am informed of pricing & the discount I will ofcourse post details.
Thankyou
KMC

Too many potholes and speed bumps in the area I drive in. I'd end up with my head bouncing off the roof...

It's this part of the warranty I'd be worried about

The vehicle has not been altered from the original specification, where said alterations maybe found to be the cause of any subsequent component failure.

Yep, you takes ya chance. But would probably only effect, anything to do with the suspension, if indeed it did. Wouldn't effect any other warranty claims.

How did your insurance company respond to the modification?

Don't know yet, got 19s ready to go on. Then it'll be lowering time.
I'm hoping the insurance won't be to bad, as it's only really cosmetic mods. It's power upgrades they usually, don't like.
It's an X Power so don't need that. 🙂👍

I bought a set of H&R but as soon as a local suspension specialist put her up in the air he said that with that complicated multi link setup I would be plagued with camber and alignment problems and expect some uneven tyre wear.
Then after being told by MG that any warranty claims would be off the menu, that was enough for me - the kit went straight to eBay and I lost fifty quid to boot. Now I'm more than happy with the upgrade to 20" wheels. It looks fab, handles better and speed bumps are not an issue.

I'll get my H&R springs for my X Power, supplied and fitted by Demon Tweeks at Wrexham. Had all my lowering done there, never have any problems at all. If they say it's a no no, then I won't go ahead. We'll see. 🙂👍

Well good on you for going with your passion and I hope you're happy with the result. One things for sure is it's a damn sight cheaper way of filling the wheel arches than fitting 20" wheels which set me back around fifteen hundred notes with new rubber. I suppose I will at least have the big wheels to sell (which will fit a few other cars) when I very reluctantly part with the car.

I've got new wheels aswell but 19s. To be honest I don't foresee a problem lowering it. I'm sure H&R knew what they where doing, when they developed them. Obviously your suspension specialist, doesn't agree. But as I've said, we'll see.
And as for MG warranty claims, being refused, it will only be anything to do with the suspension, that maybe refused. Nothing else. Plus no way, particularly in the MGs case I'm waiting for the warranty to run out in 7 years. I've always modded new cars almost immediately, and never had any problems. 🙂👍
