Xpower Stage 2 fix

Hi. I bought an mg4 xpower 2 months ago and I have the same problem with the chassis vibration. Here in Finland, the importer immediately started the repair work according to the attachment when I complained about it. I hope this can be fixed. The first stage has already been implemented without the desired result

Unfortunately there is evidence that the stage 2 fix doesn't work now , I believe that's why MG have resorted to calling it a "Characteristic "
At least one member on here (from Australia) has had the stage 2 fix with a complete resolution, fuelling the wildly held opinion that MG uk stated that this fix didn’t work, due to the immense labour cost associated with it.

Let's hope the situation improves a bit. I remember reading about this problem and it was mentioned that the driveshafts were at the "wrong" angle and that it was causing this vibration as well.

That was one theory but remains just that - all we know is the mg technical bulletin referenced a driveshaft as an excitation source (didn’t reference front or rear AFAIK). Suspect SAIC know but aren’t letting on.

Yet someone (@ilukey77 in Oz?) reported that the "expensive" fix did work for his? 🤷‍♂️
yeah mine was fixed im in Australia .. still fixed. took it on the freeway just the other day and it's still great ..

As for cost the list ( that I've posed in previous posts ) is long so i ASSUME it's not a cheap fix.

Talking: motor out ,sub frame replacement ,bushes ,fluids replacement etc etc ..

I think the car was worked on for 3 days or so , so labor alone lets say at 100aud an hour wont be cheap !!

The characteristic BS is based on parts and labor costs.. ( that MG dont want to pony up for )

I really dont think that it's a doesn't work thing.. ( if it changes later well i don't know, but so far it's been great and vibration is gone ).

Mine's been solid since its fix months ago !!

All i get now is road surface changes which is normal for any car ..

So was it the front driveshaft angle that was causing the issue ? From pics I've seen, the front diff and hubs looked very misaligned by design

I couldn’t say for sure while to my understanding no drive shafts were replaced

So maybe the front and rear sub frame and to an extent the bushes changed the angle of the drive shafts

I’m not sure really how or what the parts did in regards to the fix ..

What I do know was that the small vibration that it originally had would randomly get worse the faster I went from time to time then would go back to its normal vibration at other times..

I’m still due to get it lowered soon ( long time coming it’s been either to busy at work or people keep hitting my car so it winds up at a panel shop) so it will be interesting to see if the vibe comes back because by lowering it that will change the angle of the drive shafts ..

For now the vibe has gone and most I get vibes as such is from different road surface now which is normal ..
