First head to head review I have seen and looks pretty comprehensive, only thing is it is all in German. I guess the only thing to say is that the XPower is half the cost of the 5N so if you factor that it, the MG is very good VFM

Started to watch it, but got bored. Even though I couldn't understand them. You pretty much knew what they where going to say. The N5 is better. It almost certainly is. BUT your never gonna get away from the Price difference. And thats it really, end of. The X Power is awesome value. Of course if you had 65 grand, you would probably go for the N5, but who has? And I still say it's not 35 grand better.
So these Video comparisons are pointless really. 🙂👍

That Hyundai looks like a chavs car with the cheesy red line along the sill and the front valance. Trying much too hard, a bit like a those lowered civics with drainpipe exhausts and blue lights underneath the car. Less is more and the MG wins hands down.

Don't like the looks of the Ioniq at all, looks like a common 'jelly mould' design and the N version looks like a chavved up civic, trying far too hard.

Sorry but for me the 5n just looks a bloated boring looking thing and grossly over priced, for me the XP has way more style and panache. I can honestly say that even if they were the same price I would still buy the MG.

Mmmm, fair enough.
But have to say, if the 5n and the XP, where the same price, it would be the 5n.
As much as I love my XP.
It's obviously the BIG price difference, thats the deciding factor.
As it stands now there's no contest. 🙂👍

We have an I5 ultimate as the family car and the Xpower as the runabout. The I5 software feels a bit better finished and there are a few features missing on the Xpower (none of which are that much of an issue.) Main down side is I have had to take a few panels off to stick padding to stop rattles which the I5 definetly didn’t need.
Other than that, the Xpower holds its own on overall ‘feel’ in my opinion.

In terms of speed, I had a little play with a 5N the other day and sub 60 is not much in it, I followed him with no obvious gap opened up.

Would I like a 5N? Yes, can I justify the cost? No. I got our X 25K brand new which for the car I think is great.

There's certainly nothing to touch it for the price and if you run it on 20" rubber as I have done it's not just a srtaight liner either, It's the best upgrade I could have had, the handling is just brilliant, I've had 9 months of great "back road" fun with this car, if it gets out of shape as you power out of an apex the AWD is just magic, pulls it back on line and your off like a rocket - just love this car and looking forward to the day I actually own it, if I don't snuff it first!!

i would take the ionic 5N over the x power everyday of the week BUT at 55k aud X power VS the 120kaud ionic 5 N

There is a lot to be said about what the X power brings over the the likes of the ionic 5 N when all is said and done ..

Yes the better hot hatch goes to the ionic 5 N every day but with EVs losing as much as they do id rather lose less money than more ..

The speed limit still exists and with todays traffic your more and more less likely to actually use all the performance with handling and straight line performance the ionic 5N has even to some degree the X power is overkill on the roads today ..

That is what always weirded me out with high performance high end cars ( Porsche , Ferrari , Lambo etc etc ) 100% more or a statis symbol rather than actually being able to use them ..

Hence why i know if i was EVER able to afford a car like that i would either be dead or lose my license it 2 seconds !!

I would never, ever pay more for an EV than I did for my Xpower (€29k, about £24k at the time earlier this year). Does everything and even more than I need. The Ioniq and other 'jelly mould' designs are way overpriced. I certainly don't want a perceived 20% more (most of which I don't need) for a real 100% (or more) increase it buying price. My next EV will be Chinese again unless the pricing if non-Chinese EVs drops significantly and starts to undercut the Chinese which I can't see happening over the next 15-20 years and probably in reality never in any adult's lifetime.

I think it all depends on what you want i guess if your in the market for a high end EV and money is like water then fine ..

Personally ive been looking at a few other Ev's maybe to lease a SUV or a UTE full Ev not hybrid ..

I will most likely keep my X power for 5 years because honestly its been decent enough and another accident some one ran in to the back of me ..

Now im getting pissed my first new car EVER and the things had more hits than Elvis

Plus side though the panel shop is going to paint that awful grey panel on the rear bar the same piano black as the rest of it ( will post pics when i get it back )

Ive been looking at the likes of the geely EX5 the new MGS5 ev suv , xpeng G6 , on the Ute side ive been looking at the Riddara rd6 even the deepal EO7 suv ute thingy ..

That all said Ive also been thinking maybe wait a year or 2 before investing in another EV

Battery tech is improving at an amazing rate when we start getting the cheaper Chinese EVs with 700 800km range and 300plusKW charging / charging stations then it might be time to invest again in a new EV ..

X power is solid enough for what i use it for and i may take it on a long trip one day ..

when i say long for refence you can fit all of England in my state of Victoria in Australia so when i say long i mean Victoria to Queensland so we are talking 1800km there and 1800km back or around 900km from Melbourne to Sydney ..

China has taken the worlds EVs nobody can produce them cheaper and for the most part they are very safe despite the haters ..

understand volumes sell 10million Evs your going to get the odd fires etc etc sell lower volumes you are going to reduce that failure rate in the tens of thousands ..

so all these BYD fires and other issues you see in China ..

Ive yet to here about them in AUS ..

Well, I can 'afford' to buy pretty much any EV from any manufacturer on the market today. However, that doesn't mean I will blindly spend my money and that policy has paid huge dividends over the years which puts me in a position to buy virtually any car available. The Xpower is still way ahead of anything else for not only similar money but also other EVs costing significantly more. Brands mean nothing to me and products that had flocks of customers in the past that were considered 'exclusive' are now commodities and that applies to most cars, particularly EVs.
