Hi. Looking for Evaporator and expansion valve part numbers for MG ZS EV 2022 (after facelift).
Found the A/C compressor and condenser but not these two.
Thanks.

there is a service manual that you can download from MG for a small fee (meant for garages but you can get it), the links are somewhere on the forum.

I was getting a quote from my local MG garage for re-gassing the air-con and asked about condenser (guess it's the same as evaporator you mentioned), they told me it would be covered by warranty unless damaged whilst driving, their guess without checking was that it would cost about £500 to replace...

p.s. anyone had their MG re-gassed recently by an MG garage? what are the prices?

Condenser is in the front, behind the big fan. I bought one from eBay recently. The evaporator I can't find online anywhere.

To replace the evaporator, you have to remove the whole dashboard - like everything to the bare bones - 2 days job and most likely they won't put everything back together how it looked originally.

I had UV dye injected, and it didn't show anything. I can only feel a strong smell after running the car for the first time - that's the gas.

I'm in Antigua, so my options are limited. But the guys had this https://highsidechem.com/product/r3-ac-leak-pro-tech-service-kit/ which was surprisingly cheap, so I decided to try it. Apparently, it does not clog the recovery equipment that no one uses here anywhere - all the freon from the 3rd world countries goes straight to the atmosphere. They even don't use R1234yz, just R123...

I'd love to buy the evaporator online. It would be much cheaper to get it in the UK so that a friend could bring it or ship it than here... Paradise taxes.

Yes, I'm learning, my air-con also stopped blowing cold. We'll see how that turns out. Any luck finding the evaporator? quite a few spare ZS parts on eBay recently, try sending messages to them?
also, read somewhere that you have to use R1234YZ, can't use R123 instead.

The eBay vendor who sold me the condenser said he could list evaporator for GBP 220,-
PM for his name, not sure I can post it.

You can't mix refrigerants but you can use R134 instead of R1234yf in ZS system. It actually gives colder air. The stop leak they added to my system has been working so far. Will wait and see what happens. Don't want to replace the evaporator unless I have to.

Change the name of the this thread to Air-conditioning - might get more posts 🙂 and replies. Good to know about "stop leak" additive...
