have just noticed the zs ev in India has a range of 419 Km thats with a 44.5 KW battery, is this a new battery or an upgrade. This would mean a range of 269 miles in UK
has anyone heard about this

That effectively means getting approximately nearly 6.5miles/kwhr from the useable part of the battery.

Maybe Indian miles are shorter

Maybe the bigger tyres means each rotation goes further.
And less drag with higher ground clearance.

India uses a different classification for range (not WLTP) so the range will not be nearly 419 km. But that is a so-called facelift of our current model. I say so-called facelift because the difference is in the battery/software (we don't know if it's a new battery type or improved software) not the car itself which is identical other than being higher off the ground (which could very well be just larger tyres).

Also here in UAE it shows me 405 kms on full charge with eco mode and Air conditioning off but it actually runs 280 kms on this single charge under one condition; don't exceed 80 km/h speed
