Hello folks.
I'm about to pop my EV cherry and have a choice. Some will think it's obvious either way I suspect. Have floated around this group for a couple of weeks and appreciate your good nature and superior knowledge, so can I ask for your experience and opinion please.
My diesel VW CC has bombed so hand is forced somewhat.
For the same price I can get a ZS SR Trophy which is available at local dealer now or an MG5 Exclusive long range available "this month".
My quandary is as follows..
From a design and aesthetic pov I think I prefer the ZS with the facelift, pan roof, app, driving position, interior, red stitching (why the hell to I care about that).
On the other hand the MG5 has that extra 50mile range. It's an estate, I've owned a couple, more storage room (I mountain bike and also tend to use a large boot as a nice outdoor metal wardrobe/shed) and this is practical, although I fancy a change in style too. Ultimately I find the 5 a little bland and boring in design, not at all slating anyone else's opinions, just my feel for it, but it does seem a practical option.
Ultimately, does the 50mile range make enough of a difference? Want to make the right decision for the family.
I drive 65 mile round trip to work 5 days a week. Add between 30/50 miles extra dad taxiing then with a ZS SR running at say average 180 range I'm charging 2 and a bit times a week.
With a MG5 twice a week for sure.
Then comes in the efficiency on longer holiday trips to West Wales.
Would obvs like a ZS LR to solve the problem but funds don't allow.
What are your thoughts? Will I just be jibbering with range anxiety or does it not make that make that much difference in my situation?
I thank you in advance for your wisdom and time.
