Vanarama Issues

It's also completely disproportionate to the actual increase in cost.

Even if they thought they'd loose 100% depreciation of that increase over say a 2 year lease (which they won't) £83 x 24 = £1992.
I challenged the £83 x 36months = £3000, and why it is more than £2500(grant value), I quickly got a call from a manager apologizing for the mistake and that it will be rectified either tomorrow or Monday, they did say they have 100's of Vanarama clients to phone regarding this.

Surely it's not vanaramas fault if there not getting stock from MG your anger needs to be redirected to MG?
I agree, they placed the orders in good faith that they will arrive within the time scale given by MG. I am in the same boat with my lease company.

Ordered mid Nov, spoke to vanarama, greenhous MG itself. Apparently its on shortage waiting on build but MG dealership orders are being delivered placed even after me.

Vanarama still say september for a car that is not yet built in factory, 16 -20 weeks seems to have extended to 16 years

If i am asked to pay more, i will take legal action for lost opportunity cost

I see on the shipping that a lot of members are having their monthly payments increased. I was wondering if anyone has asked for a detailed breakdown of Vanarama's costs and which ones have increased? If they refuse, you can use the Freedom Of Information Act to demand the information and they have 28 days to respond.

I have been reading this forum for months as I am one of the Vanarama MG ZS EV customers, having ordered in November 2021 and having had a 'free' EV charger fitted back in March. Thanks to everyone for their insight and information.
I had an email conversation with an Account Manager at Vanarama who answered my question about a price guarantee stating that this stock batch is price protected and will remain the same as the order you have signed for and will not change.
Interestingly, he also says in the same email that they have got a stock of Trophy Long Range models on order for October delivery but they work out £150 per month more than your current order.
After another question from me he insisted that this stock will arrive after my car!
I have still to receive the dreaded call about a more expensive and very very late delivery.
However it seems that they have broken the contract since the car will not be the same (no panoramic roof?), much more expensive and a year late. If that's not a breach of contract I don't know what is!

Yes I got that call today, Nov 21 order and increase price £83 per month for 36 months which is £3k. I queried that and they said it is a mistake. Should only increase by £2500

Confused by this - when was your email exchange with them?

Why 2500 though, are they writing it off after 3 years. Surely some of that relates to the over all life of car and should not be all passed onto you

I got a call from complaints department today after several weeks of an update this week for you statement.

It was word for word exact same statement i have been hearing for three weeks now

Suspect it’s the cost of the grant. £2.5k for those who ordered back in ‘21.

We could have got that grant if we opted for a different car or company. We have lost that grant because of Vanarama so perhaps they should forget about the charger if we cancel our order

Sorry have they told you your car no longer has a sunroof? This has been discussed so many times now. MG have not just randomly stopped building cars with sunroof and restrospectively changed the spec for existing orders. If the vehicle had a sunroof in its spec when you ordered it, unless your lease company lied about when they placed the order with MG you are getting a sunroof as all orders before the model refresh in July are being fulfilled as per the ordered spec.

Lease companies are placing their orders via a MG main dealer some where around the U.K.
They have ordered in big numbers and therefore received a good discount on these orders.
Of course as a dealer, it's always great to receive a big order from a lease company, but as demand has out stripped the supply, the general shortage of new cars, has affected the main dealers badly.
Main dealers are feeding sparingly on the very few cars that MG are able to supply.
High demand is brilliant, but if you can not turn these orders into cash, then it's useless having the orders in the first place !.
I know I am repeating myself ( sorry folks ) but dealers are prioritising there OWN main dealer customer orders FIRST.
Not what lease company customers like Vanarama want's to hear, but that is truthfully how I see it.
Dealers are not going to supply high demand stock items to lease companies, to watch them make the profit that THEY should be making themselves.
Until the supply increases drastically, I can not see lease companies receiving cars in any serious numbers at all.
I offered the same theory to the forum a few months ago and Miles posted back with a (y).
So, at least somebody agrees with my theory anyway 🤷‍♂️.

No, they have not told me that there's no panoramic roof. I had just assumed that being a 2023 build it would not have a panoramic roof, but I may have misread earlier posts. I just wanted to post that I had an email stating that my price would be honoured, which now seems to contradict other Vanarama customers experiences.

Might be worth posting the email here. But understand if you don't want to.
