MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

So I’ve rang my dealership and spoke to someone, who took my details and said someone would ring me back, still waiting? And he didn’t say what year that would be..have just spent £220 on the Merc, (never did find out what was draining the battery?) that I’m part chopping in to MG, with another £320 for two back tyre’s on it, didn’t realise it had racing slicks on it, one with bits of wire sticking out, it looked fine from the side as there was tread on the side wall..only when I stuck my hand across it that I felt, well nothing, hate spending money on something I’m not keeping..if only they would come back to me and tell me the car is on a ship and will be here next week, month, September, it’ll sit on my drive till I get it and then they can have it..

I called same dealer as you this morning(Balsall common) at 9.30 reception said they would call back, nothing. I called back at 3.30 this afternoon , again they said i'd get call back. At 4.30 I actually got call back to say car literally arrived there this morning. Apparently I was his 1st LR TC in RED ordered 6/12/21. Hopefully not to long for you to wait now.
I'm collecting next week, having ceramic coating on paint before I collect.

While waiting for call I put 2 back tyres on Lexus. At least wheel Kickers won't be looking to knock cash of for lack of thread.

Interesting, so yours just went from TBA to car at the dealers? No notification it was built or en-route?

I would be more annoyed that it had arrived and they did not think to call you (until you prompted them)

I checked about a month ago, it was built waiting shipping with estimated delivery 17th Sept. Not sure how real this was with all the conspiracy theory's and tales of dodgy dealers extending delivery into 2023, having people cancel and keeping your car to sell for profit.
I'm glad its nearly all over and thankful that my local dealer is coming good for me (grant,discounts intact)

I should say that we are actively looking at alternatives. We tried a Citroen E C4 last weekend, although nice car - was not big enough in the back for my eldest.
Although could get delivery for December.

Called Hyundai - Kona is June/July next year and Tucson is March.

Looking at Ford Kuga this weekend - January delivery.

Heard it a few times now from other manufacturers that cars without sunroofs are coming through quicker.

Are you going to wait? I've decided to stick it out as my current is working OK and I know it will be worth it in the end.

To be fair he said it was weird the fact that I called the same day that it arrived, and was on transporter as we spoke. I can see it tomorrow if I want to.
Relief is more of a feeling than annoyance after 9 months.

Am still looking at alternatives - looking at Ford Kuga plug in hybrid this weekend.
My current car is ok too now - been on the computer to reset the auto gearbox settings.
Westridge have lost Franchise so it may be supplied by Premier best case. Worst case it will be supplied by a dealer on the mainland and Westridge have said that they will send someone to collect it and bring it to the island for us. (That is if we do not cancel)
Check with Motability that your insurance has been extended. Apparently you have to call them and ask them to extend if you keep your car beyond 3 years.

I feel your frustration - it could be “guess what has just arrived on the low loader” or it is still awaiting parts and not started build yet.
Meanwhile other customers are getting news that cars are built when they only ordered 4 / 5 months ago.

It's frustrating..!! Mine was ordered 4 Dec 2021.....still to be built.
Now they are delivering cars ordered in March/April 2022.

I wonder if #Harry or #Seadogs have had updates to see if batch building makes any sense, they ordered about the same time/and model as me.
Looking at tracker I'm feeling very lucky (after 9 months who'd of thought) or peeps are not updating when good news arrives.

Are you on the motability advice group as they often have dealers who get hold of EVs with really short lead times.

Happy for you…how come your dealership is Balsall common and not the Coventry dealership? I ordered thro Balsall common, but now just deal with MG Coventry..

Updated MG ZS EV about to arrive at Australian dealers

Dealers confirm that updated MG ZS EVs are in the country and will be available as demos over the coming weeks.

I've always checked in with Balsall common as my daughter lives there. When they opened in Coventry I continued chasing them as one of your earlier posts didn't inspire with confidence to transfer to Cov. I think you said sales staff were there one day and gone the next. I'm wondering if they weren't as efficient as the chap I dealt with (Matt) in processing orders/grants etc. My order went through when i actually ordered not the beginning of the next month that others seem to be experiencing.
