MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

I got a call from Octopus on Friday where they offered me the MG4… at a monthly higher price than the ZS EV I’ve been waiting almost a year for.

After the call I realised that I’m starting to get the impression that they want people to cancel/change car so they can lease my ZS EV for a significantly higher sum than I’m currently contracted to pay.

I've sent a pretty scathing email to the person looking after my order and the account management team (I set up the company account with them so have a couple more contacts) and as part of that have asked them to confirm cancellation costs, I'm pretty sure that unless something changes swiftly, that I'll be cancelling and probably looking for a new ICE car, I can't justify the extra cost for EV anymore, especially as I am reliant on public charging.

No its not just you, my dealer has never answered emails or returned phone calls since February.

I think the general consensus is that dealers do not know the status of cars or their whereabouts until they come off the boat in the UK or turn up at the dealership

And so it gets better (not) so just rang EDF to see about getting an overnight cheap rate for charging the car, something like economy 7 or the like…to be told by them, they no longer do it..so that’s helpful, day rate is 32.2p which will be the overnight rate as well..looked at octopus but there not taking on anyone..so looks like I’m stuck with EDF..guess at 32.2p it won’t be that much, well not as much as sticking £30 in the car a Fortnite ..

I think that someone on here said that you have to call Octopus to get on their EV tariff, you cannot do it online

Use Octopus. I am currently on a 7p overnight deal on Go. It is more expensive than that now, but cheaper than that rate.

I would also leave it a month to switch whilst you have the car and what your charging patterns end up being. You may find your daily standard electricity usage negates any benefit of a cheaper over night rate Vs slightly more expensive standard rate.

On my Ioniq it was a close thing.

According to CEO at octopus on Nartin Lewis show, if you call them they swap you from another supplier.
