MG ZS EV refreshed version reviews

Just watched the video and it was pretty fair I would say.
He did pick up on something that I noticed on my test drive of the LR face lift model.
When pulling away from a standing start, you DO feel a delay between tapping the "GO" pedal and receiving the power.
Almost like there is small amount of"Play" in the pedal travel.
Of course, there is not - but that is what it feels like to me ?.
Not the same instant response that you get with the Gen 1 model, as soon as you tap the pedal.
This MAY catch a few Gen 1 model owners out.
Not sure if this is something that will become a REAL annoyance, or just needs getting use to.
Time will tell I guess.
Power feed is generally more linear somehow ?.
The HV battery voltage is lower that the Gen 1 model also, more in the MG5 voltage range at around 405 Volts I think ?.
I wonder if the SR ZS EV has the same delay in the "GO" pedal when pulling away ?.
Different motor set up on the SR model also.

can't say I noticed any difference, but then I use Auto hold all the time in the mk1, so maybe thats why?

I think most of the delay people percieve is in the auto hold to be honest. It all but dissapears with it off, although I tend to leave it on and use the first couple of mm of the pedal travel as the handbrake.

That could be correct. Turning off the auto-hold all but eliminated any hindrance I felt, and the drive was better for it.

I am not sure if the Demo I drove had the auto hold turned on or off, to be honest ?.
Is it red light “ON” on the switch, meaning it is ON or Off ?.
If it’s red light ON - Then it has never been engaged on my car, as the red auto hold light is never showing.

Same here! Each time I see it, I know I made the right choice. Plus it makes the off centre charging flap less noticeable to me

I think I will tint the windows though.

Ive got a black SR Trophy and I must tell you, it feels amazing! No disrespect to the other colours but it looks really nice! Easier to get matching accessories online as well

Yes tinted for sure. It would make it look even more elegant! I haven't thought of the antenna though! But you just gave me some food for thought! I've seen quite a few nice matching accessories for the interiors. Like sil protectors etc. Will be pretty looking with the black!

Not at all. Really pleased with the purchase. Still getting used to the charging routines and the dodgy iSmart app but overall very pleased with the car. Been nearly 2 weeks and it's been a pleasure to drive. Its my first EV so it's going to take a bit to get the EV mindset right(not wasting resources within the car, avoiding range anxieties etc) but the car is just very nice to drive. Had a choice between SE and Trophy but I think I did the right thing going for the Trophy! The opening sun roof is a just amazing! Not one bit of regret! Weather does effect the range but about 170 miles is more than enough for me personally for a week of the usual school runs and city runs.
