Mine did the same to me Car2 Barnsley...they came up with the excuse that don't apply for the grant till the cars delivered

This is one thing that MG need to address with dealers.

They can't hide behind the 'dealers are independent thing' on this one. It looks bad on MG if this isn't done properly.

I guess it's a problem they'll no longer have with the grant going...

Agreed…..it’s their mistake if they didn’t request the grant property. MGUK should be dealing with this in my opinion.

What are dealers contractually obliged to do if they haven't applied for the grant?
If the customer agrees to buy the car for say £32k list price less the £2.5k grant that the dealer is responsible for applying for, is the contract to buy the car at £29.5k
If they haven't applied for the grant shouldn't it be "tough, I'm paying the £29.5k that we agreed"

Then he says no you reject the car and your back to square one....he'd have no problem selling it on...even a bigger win for him if he did get the grant....you can't prove either way whether it was paid or not...they can tell you what they want

Next ships in with potential MGs aboard:

• Adriatic Highway - due 25th June
• Cape Town Highway - due 30th June
• Galveston Highway - due 11th July
• Viking Adventure - due 27th July - she hasn't stopped in Shanghai yet (and may not!) - but this is a usual MG delivery vessel, so one to keep an eye on over the next week to see where she goes after her visit to Japan.

I get exactly the same updates but they are from the lease company so I think they are a guess tbh

Where would you go to find out if the grant was paid or not......you are dealing with a car salesman....I'll never trust another

You could try this;

To communicate with administrators of the system, email [email protected].

Administrators will respond within 5 working days for enquiries and 10 days for audits.

It looks like it is for dealerships who have an account login, but they may be able to help.

My dealer confirmed that the grant was placed when the car was ordered

My dealer also confirmed grant application and elegibility as was near cut off on 14th Dec 2021.

Seems to be the Norm with Nathaniels as I have my order with them & I have to do all the Chasing!!
