Cost of journey and err stupidly warning

When you unplug the charger is there a reason not to close it immediately? Is the cable too heavy to manage that makes you replace it before you close the charge door?

    Run Flat Tires

As long as the car has tyre pressure monitoring, which all newer cars must have, then you can use run-flat tyres.

    Run Flat Tires

You are lucky. I had a puncture on a 5-month old tyre and by the time I got stopped the tyre was damaged beyond repair.

    Run Flat Tires

The problem with run-flat tyres is once punctured they must be replaced. They cannot be repaired as the process of running flat can damage the tyre wall.

    Number plates.

These are illegal and are known as "show plates". It is a legal requirement to have the suppliers name and postcode on the plates. Your plates are a valid reason for the police to stop and breathalyse you for a moving traffic offence.

Phone GPS poor reception in car

I have an app on my phone called GPS Test. You can run that and it tells you if the issue is the hardware or your SatNav software.

The day started badly and just got worse....The Genie bit me

Have you decided on where you intend to stay? We drove from our home in Kirkcaldy to Thurso on day one (a trip I have made a few times in the past), the second night we stayed in Poolewe, then onto Fort William (after Loch Carron we turned south) before returning home via Glen Coe.

The day started badly and just got worse....The Genie bit me

The whole trip is magical with unbelievable beaches. I drove it years ago before it was popularised and there was one bit where you come up a crest and the road drops away so steeply you only see the sky. Quite unnerving.

Not a lot of petrol stations on the NC500 and only half as many on a Sunday :censored:

I think I have read enough.

I really want an EV. I found a secondhand Leaf that was perfect for my needs but my wife (who doesn't drive) didn't like it! The MG5 is really the only new EV my finances will stretch to and good secondhand EVs are few and far between.

I think I have read enough.

I am a Jazz owner, a Jazz lover, and it is the new Jazz. I wouldn't consider any other hybrid.

I think I have read enough.

I am seriously considering the new Hybrid Jazz. It uses an electric drive. The ICE is used to charge the battery and only provided traction at higher speeds. Seem to return tremendous mpg.

I think I have read enough.

After all the reading I have done on here with regards to failures, charging issues, roof rails, wind noise etc. I think I will pass on the MG5. I will look in every now and again to see how things are progressing but I don't think the rough edges have been smoothed off enough for me to buy...

    Regeneration brake light

I can remember when cars with disc brakes would display a sticker to that effect. https://www.picclickimg.com/d/l400/pict/303033995901_/Rare-1960S-Original-Vintage-Discs-Brake-Warning-Car.jpg

    MG5

Surely that figure was only for the 24.2 miles of the current journey?
