Would an XPower be good in the Snow?

It's not a problem for me as I don't have a steep downhill drive, but one begs the question, why is there no AWD in reverse even in snow mode? One would expect a vehicle labelled AWD would have it in both directions! Smacks aloud a poor design to me.

Are you happy with your MG4?

Hi there Terry in Oz. I have to tell you that the roads are not much better here in the UK than your outback, we spend most of the time dodging potholes and raised or dropped drain covers. My tyres are 255/35/20s Tomket sport which are B rated in the wet. No I haven't lowered it because for road...

Are you happy with your MG4?

Retired now but still a sporty, mostly fit Guy. My Xpower is the love of my life (after the Wife of course). Spent 31 years as a mechanic on various makes (that's what they called us in the old days - you know the good old days when we actually used to FIX things instead of just fitting them!)...

Information about the 2026 refreshed EV4 here

For sure, but us Xpower persons have no interest in going slower around corners or even in a straight line for that matter. I would sooner go for a used Xpower myself, which I'm told are worth peanuts now, mine is less than 2 years old with less than 4000 on the clock and Motorway told me it's...

Information about the 2026 refreshed EV4 here

This new budget 4 should just have been named MG Urban and ditched the 4 to save confusion. After reading the various tests, most say you're better off paying the extra and buying the current model which handles better with the rear motor and superior rear suspension.

    UK debut for MG4 Urban

Sorry to differ but I prefer the existing shape, at least it's different from all the rest around these days which all look like variations of golfs and polos. I agree that the name is a bad choice but the cheaper version of the car is a good move. Strange that they don't offer the solid state...

    Auto Headlights

I had a habit of flicking on to high beam with the back of my fingers - wow what a mistaka to maker, I manged (twice now) to catch the tiny switch and turn off the lights off because I had it set on manual lighting which put us straight into the dark on unlit country roads which frightened the...

    Small EVs coming soon

Small is (for some applications) good. I was quite excited seeing the first IM5 early in the year, that is until I discovered it was half the size of our House!

    MG4 headlight adjustment

Yes but it's not the dipping that is the issue, you may not have the same problem. Unlike many cars of yesteryear the dip stays on when using full beam and on my car the high beam is aiming miles down the road way too high. Reflection from road signs is literally blinding, plus as I said there's...

    MG4 headlight adjustment

The headlghts are great other than there's a black hole between the dip and high beam, is there no way of bringing down the high beam withoutout lowing both? I always have the setting on 2 to avoid constant flashing from oncommers, but then on high I'm still just spotting Owls! - most annoying.

    Small EVs coming soon

Yes the MG2, just hope they include a dual motor version to replace my xpower, which is bigger than I really wanted but forced to go larger to get AWD. I still love it to bits but a smaller version with similar BHP - now that would really be a thrill!

MG4 Spotted! : Was it you?

Had my 4 Xpower for 18 months now and (apart from the demo car) never seen another Xpower around here on Surrey/Sussex border but lots of other spec MG4s

    Test Drive or not!

My 1st impression of both I'm5 and 6 were very favourable, but now I'm thinking they are both very Tesla lookalikes. What I've always loved about our beloved MG4 is it's unique style, I'm also concerned these new cars are so much bigger, but worse is the crazy idea of having the drive controls...
