MG4 Software Update Thread

I had a software update today. Is anyone able to confirm this because I can’t!

I’m undecided whether to write this here or in a “first service” thread, but here goes! I booked in for the first service on my 22 Trophy, which is currently running R30.

The service bloke said on the phone that for the first service they’ll run through health checks, and “update any systems that require it, checking recall flags, and providing any updates to those”.

I still have a feeling they’ll skip any infotainment updates unless I tell them I have problems; honestly, yes, there are niggles, but nothing that I really hate.

Does anyone have any experience saying the right words to get them to do every update as part of the service/warranty?

Thanks

I've got another few weeks before my first service but I believe if you complain that the Bluetooth keeps disconnecting and that the consumption graph isn't working that will get the infotainment system working.

Hi
Just had our MG4 Trophy in for its first service - while we really like the car, some things (the murderous LKA for example) are irritating.

The dealer said they would apply a couple of updates to the software as part of the service, and we were hoping this would sort out some or all of the niggles.

So far nothing seems changed.

Anyone know if the software we have is actually up to date as I'm a little suspicious of them having done anything as they already "forgot" to sort an oil leak issue and had to be reminded.

Many thanks for any insight.

My trophy was recently updated to R46... TBH, it was on R33 before the update, so for a Trophy, that seems WAY old... (my R33 was from delivery in August 23)

I always recieve bunch of error messages on my app when they are updating the software. If you didn't receive that I would be suspicious.

I moaned like stink about the USB player not working not long after I got the car - and a few other things. I also told them in no uncertain terms that I did NOT want any infotainment update that removed the external temperature display - the car was on R13 when I got it, and still is.

I think this should be enough to get me R33.

With R33, we now have a mature version at hand. Transitioning from R26, I found myself quite annoyed by the numerous minor bugs and discrepancies in the user interface. R33 brings a much more refined experience.
@Rolfe Go for it!!!
You were a happy bunny already before or only after r33?
