Dual CCS BP pulse 150kW charging problem?

Here in Feb 2024. I can report that BP Pulse Chargers in Lewes and near Littlehampton would not charge my mk1 Trophy. Not via the bp app or with my debit card. Both sides off both chargers report “an error setting up the charge “. Support line rebooted one of the chargers. No effect. The charger that wouldn’t work for me worked immediately for a Tesla one side and a nira the other. A Evyve charger I found via zapmap nearby in Little Hampton worked no problem. And never had trouble with other chargers.

If there are instructions displayed then it is important the you read the instructions. At a recent bp-pulse fast charger I asked why a driver was leaving, she replied that the charger was kaput (my words). I decided to try it, as I had not used one before, and waited until the digital screen told me the order in which to do things. I followed the instructions, the charge started and I sat in the car until I felt I needed to stop charging. That was more confusing because the sequence began with the same as if you were initiating a new charge but I followed the instructions and,lo and behold, I could stop the charge.

Mind you, the cost was high cf Gridserve which I normally use.
See above my only dealings with bp-pulse fast chargers. Perhaps they are temperamental.

Thanks. At both sites and multiple times, I followed the instructions to the letter. On both outlets on each charger. Yes, it is not a huge sample-size, but that the car charged immediately at a non-BP charger—Evyve—ten mins later and then again at an Instavolt further into the journey and then again at my home charger—each time following the instructions … does point to an issue between BP Pulse and at least my car on this occasion. And all this in the context of reported similar difficulties above. The upshot is that I’ll avoid BP Pulse unless I have time and motivation to sample more of their chargers to see if there is a problem. But that’s their job really.:)

the bp pulse chargers with an ID starting with BPG are being updated but the process is slow and not the best design hardware, so just avoid if you can’t be bothered to try and then leave if unsuccessful.
I posted about this before in other threads. All other ultra rapid chargers should be compatible with the MG4
