MG4 Software Update Thread

Folks, no doubt it has been posted on here, I’ve probably read it & forgot 🤔

How do you check what software version you have?

I picked my car up in January, I’d presume it would have been updated with the latest version available at the time? Even if I have an older version, I’m happy to carry on with it until the car goes in for its first check up/service … “If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it” … I’d just be interested to know.

Home > Settings > System (I think) then it should give you the version numbers.
If it's not system then the About section.

I'd head outside to confirm but brrr very cold.

Yep that’s where it is. Photo on this post;

Did you ask for the update?
I requested non-specifically for updates when I booked in for a service. The last update I had was Feb 2023 after the cars started locking people inside.

Regardless, they said there was a recall and they could install updates if I was happy. I'll try and do pictures/video later if there is anything anyone wants me to try/see working?

For one thing, does the left pull down reveal an ELK/LKA toggle?

Also, I would like to hear if ACC has improved (particularly in situations when overtaking slower cars).

Last but not least, coyld you check the navi? Does it have updated maps, ev stations? Does the navi assist you to plan charge stops if you plan a trip?

That's interesting. Mine is going in for its first service on the 28th and it hasn't been near a garage since I got it.

Ditto, but mine's going in on the following Tuesday, a)Just in case new software availability from 1st April and b)they have longer to fix it before the weekend if anything goes wrong.;)

I’ve just had 9 x updates installed. I’m just waiting a list from the dealer of what they actually updated. The energy/battery efficiency seems to have improved, I don’t get as many alarming messages on start up (they always went away in a few seconds), my phone seems to stay connected, I have now a message that intelligent battery warming may be advisable (when it is cold), lights don’t now seem to come on in bright light, and auto main beam seems to work properly now. However, Infotainment and Telecommunications software version are the same R40 for infotainment. Happy at present. Mine is a September 2023 MG4 Trophy LR.

Is it easier to disable LKA?

@siteguru yep definitely a 72 plate Trophy LR I'll look at changing the profile

I've managed to look in the car a little today. Holding the steering wheel button shifts between adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist. The LKA is a button to the left of the pulldown menu press and confirm to disable.

Android Auto use leaves the infotainment bar at the top with AC settings and other stuff on it rather than being the full screen as it was previously.

I don't get why we still have to confirm to disable. My brother's Marvel is just one click.

Good evening, is there a route planner with this R59 update?
