X Power Vibes Fix?

Another vote for Autoglym Vinyl and Rubber spayed onto a microfibre cloth for the internal plastics.

I run my tyres at 2.6 bar and at the first service all the tyres had the same amount of tread across their width so despite the pothole ridden roads the tracking is still spot on.

problem with over inflating the tyre is its going to wear the center of the tyre out faster same as under inflating it will chew the sides out..

if it s fix great but may cause tyre life and wear to be shortened

In extreme cases yes?
A few psi no.(IMO)

I'm monitoring my tyres like a hawk and if I start to see any uneven wear will make adjustments. 👍

Tried pumping up the other day, noticed slight difference. Any other mode than eco the vibrations are mad. Lower tyre pressures worse.

Ive had a balance and alignment, dealer stall, stall. No answer , so now i go Civil and Administrative Tribunal. Enough is enough.

So, a question(I'm no engineer), the tyre pressure sticker looks like it states the same pressure for all models of MG4...though the X Power is heavier with the extra motor.
Why are the stated pressures the same for all models?
Also, at load it states 41psi so the tyres can be run at 41psi..., maybe the front motor is pushing down on the front axle due to weight and at 41psi the axle has now become balanced🤷‍♂️.

Mines on company lease fortunately and the tyres plus everything else are part of the maintenance agreement. I’ll take mine out for a spin shortly and report back

Definitely less vibes with inflated tyres but not gone completely. Spoke with local dealership earlier as they’ve taken on my ‘complaints’ and they’re trying to get answers out of MG directly, but until MG admit to the issue, they’re fighting an uphill battle.
He did say that a recall is definitely on the cards considering the amount of complaints, so expect this to happen pretty soon (hopefully!)

Had a police collision investigator give us a talk at work some years back.

This guy has been on a two week course learning all about tyres. There was nothing he didn't know about tyres...

He told us to always inflate tyres to the maximum load if there are two options provided for the car. Even if you are the only passenger. So I've always done that anyway with cars based on his advice.

Update from MG….

Not all vehicles are affected by this. We urge you to get the customer to demonstrate their report to you so you can confirm whether or not the vibration is there. A fix is currently being investigated by Shanghai engineering. Further information will be announced in due course.

Car will be going back to MG for wheel balancing and testing

Is there an R58? I don't think there is - any previous refs to R58 were based on someone originally making a typo from R59. As such R46 is the latest currently available, although R40 is what is normally installed at PDI as R46 is applied on a case-by-case basis. :)

@Smudger558 check the plastic wallet in the glovebox (if it is there) - this should have a Certificate of Conformity in it which gives the Build Date for the car (i.e. when it passed inspection). Is your car bought (e.g. cash or PCP) or is it leased? If leased then the lease company may have retained the CoC.
