My MG4 Trophy does this at least once or twice per journey. If I'm rolling in traffic on the motorway it flashes every time another vehicle passes me on either side.

Mine does that sometimes. Just keep trying to refresh the screen. Also, I believe there's a timeout if the vehicle's been parked for more than x days.
