Checking back on Loop, in both cases where Loop recorded 12 kWh on my bill, the graph was an absolutely straight line at 3 kWh fo 4 hours. In all other cases where the car battery showed charging had occurred the graph was jagged but more than 3 kWh. (It’s a 16 amp charger) Like the...
From memory- If you swipe left on the Home Screen one of the tabs is Vehicle. Tapping this gives a Power off option which is like the old ignition switch. Switch off and then press the brake to restart. Saves getting out of the car. I’ll check my memory tomorrow and let you know.
On two occasions now my smart meter and its online app (Loop) tells me that the car charged between 0030 and 0430 using 12 kWh energy, but the MG app showing the amount of charge, and the “miles since last charge” display in the car indicates it didnt charge. Anyone else experience this...
IOS MGismart app version 2.0.1 installed automatically and proved unusable because my usual login details failed. I had to click on forgot password, enter verification code, and reset the PW. Then the new app worked and looks quite good. Scheduled charging times needed resetting. I’ll revert...
Me too, telling me I haven’t registered for the first time in 4 months. Haven’t retried yet - just looking to see if others have the same problem and if anyone has a solution.
In the MG app under Remote Control, Clicking on Travel lets you search for a destination and then click Send to set it up in the in-car satnav ready for when you Travel. This is much easier than trying to enter a destination on the infotainment screen. However, once you’re in the car, and...
When I bought the car in August, I asked the dealer to guarantee that I could do 220miles in midwinter (visiting elderly relatives) without worrying about having to recharge. He said the MG4 trophy long-range wouldn’t do this but the new Extended Range version would. The premium price was...
I thought the upgrade to R46 recommended and installed by MG garage had sorted this when it was done about 6 weeks ago. However BT disconnected again earlier this week and I havent bothered reconnecting yet.
Like you I’ve “always” had auto wipers and was a bit miffed to find that MG automatic meant intermittent wipers which go faster when you speed up - not that I’ve ever noticed this. Today I had to drive through a big puddle which drenched the screen and I lost view of the road for a second or two...
The headline [ presumably ] should have been “malfunctioning electric car driver”
Edited by moderator: Added the word "presumably". We don't know for certain. Alas, in these cases, we almost never do, but the damage is still done (to EV perception).
Why has this topic gone quiet? Surely there are some answers to the many valid questions? Are we to conclude it was just an anti-EV stunt paid for by an anti-EV paper?
Just trying this from Amazon (evatmaster.com). It works but doesn’t come on automatically when the car is “ready”. You still have to press CarPlay and unplug/plug in the USB. Looks a lot better than the wire though. I’ll give it another couple of weeks.
