We have an early BMS version (1125600R15) which has caused our car to fail to start after charging. It's been to the original dealer for an update but they did not update the BMS and instead updated the infotainment system. We've not been able to get a reason for this from the original dealer...

@cog16 complete agree. Same as you, software developer and appalled at how bad the version management is. Tried to get a dealer to update the BMS due to a breakdown, they updated the radio. Only through my distrust of them and tinkering did I find out what they'd done.

Me too. I was wondering whether the dealer had bought in a generic guard and skimmed the difference but it looks like there is no official MG dog guard.

They agreed it was a BMS fault when booking in and when handing the car in. Yes, we will be following up with them after we confirm that the BMS we have is an old version.

Not from my experience. Disconnected the 12v battery twice, still was an issue.
