MG5 KERS 3 & Brake Light Operation - Safety Recall?

Couldn't say, all they said on the phone was that the rails need an inspection so they'll do it at the same time.

MG5 KERS 3 & Brake Light Operation - Safety Recall?

Just called my dealer after getting the letter this morning. Can't fit me in until mid-February. Apparently it's going to have the roof rails inspected too at the same time.

    Relay attacks

I would think so. Given that the fob will always be broadcasting, otherwise pressing the button on the door simply wouldn't do anything. I don't tend to worry about it when I'm just pootling around at home. But If I'm down in the South East visiting relatives, or doing a long motorway journey...

    Insurance confusion

Strange, I'm with Co-Op and got my insurance with them for my MG5 no bother. Admittedly it worked out a bit more expensive than I was paying for my Qashqai so I very much doubt I'll be renewing with them next year.

6'3" and looking for advice on MG 5

I'm also 6`3" and have no issues with the 5. I do have to have the seat back as far & as low as possible and the steering wheel fully pulled toward me however, otherwise my knees prevent me from turning the wheel comfortably. I've sat in the back seat behind my fully pulled back driving seat...

Home Charge Point - Project Ev

It does indeed. Well, it'll be more accurate once I put my cost per kWh in at any rate. The screenshot was more intended to illustrate to the OP that charging does indeed stop once the car reaches capacity.

Home Charge Point - Project Ev

I've just completed a full charge and the app shows it as Suspended.

Getting Started in the Electric World…

What I've done is take a look at Zap-Map and what charging points are available along the routes I tend to take. Then I downloaded the apps if required for those.

Home Charge Point - Project Ev

I'm getting the same point install this coming Wednesday. If no-one else chimes in, I'll post my experiences with it once it's up & running.

Picking up MG5 Later This Morning

Yup. Aware of that thanks. Before even getting the car I spent time creating accounts for various charging services. Getting the relevant apps installed etc.

Picking up MG5 Later This Morning

Oh, no doubt. We're heading to Kent end of August. Already playing with plugshare & zap-map to work out the most efficient charging stops.

Picking up MG5 Later This Morning

So, everything went smoothly on Friday. Picked up the new car. Ordered a type 2 cable as one wasn't included and drove it home. So far I've only done 30 miles or so in it. Including a trip to Tesco for our weekly shop. Was nice to plug the car in at the free pod-point there whilst shopping. I...

Picking up MG5 Later This Morning

That's a good tip, thanks. Shame the local screwfix doesn't carry stock in store - it's literally down the road from the dealership. As it happens, presumably a 3 phase cable would be a waste of time as public fast chargers would have a tethered cable, therefore meaning a more basic 230V 32A...

Picking up MG5 Later This Morning

Thanks. I'll be asking the dealer this morning if one's supplied and if not, see if we can get some haggling done.

Picking up MG5 Later This Morning

Hi all, first post after reading this forum for a few days. Took an MG5 for a test drive last Monday. Was so smitten, I immediately ordered one when I returned the demo car. I went for the red Exclusive. I pick it up at 11am this morning and frankly, I'm feeling like a kid on Christmas...
