Tried booking 71 PreFL MG5 LR Exclusive in with Islington Motors for Tesla Charging update. Initially Islington suggested they expected it to be warranty work, but later contacted me to say that MG had issued a bulletin indicating that the software update was "considered to be an enhancement"...

I'm well aware of the 75kg dynamic load limit for the 71 plate MG5 LR Exclusive; can anyone point to a reliable source for what the static load limit is? Interested because of possible roof tent use - if there was one under 75kg, that'd be ok for dynamic load, but I don't really want to trash...

Has anyone figured out how to switch off all the annoying little animations - e.g. when you adjust the a/c temperature (not required, it shows at the top of infotainment screen anyway!); when main beams come on (should be obvious because you can suddenly see things)... is it possible?

Yes - seems the best approach to plug in, lock doors, start charging - then unlock and get back in once charging established.... just a bit convoluted! Think I'll try this approach next time.

Yes - I did a few. There's a lot of discussion about "charging while sat in the car" or "locked / unlocked" charging, but it seems to be related to the MG ZS EV, rather than the MG5. TBH I'm not sure why locking/unlocking should make any difference at all. It makes no difference on our Leaf...
