These symptoms also infuriated me until I tried what was such a simple tip: after inserting, hold the charge plug up by just a few millimetres whilst simultaneously pressing lock on the car's key remote. You will not hear the double whirring sound and you can sleep so soundly in the reassurance...

Just a thought: does the 'lazy' window open feature work? When the car is locked, press and HOLD the unlock button on the remote key for about 10 seconds to open all windows (and sunroof if fitted). Then reverse the process when locking the car with the lock button on the key.

Hmm, I have that exact same issue also. But most notably low, it consistently has low volume to/from calls made via Bluetooth and also Apple Carplay (which uses the same BT connection protocol I believe). So, using hands free mobile in car is mostly not possible; for a new car that's unreasonable.

Can anyone help with a solution please? Maybe I should post as a new thread.

On this thread, it's interesting to note that the 'miles to go' is not very helpful when there are about 50-70 miles remaining as the gauge will suddenly plummet with a warning to fill up asap. During such time there is absolutely no indication of the actual distance remaining, only the warning...

Here's my CarlinKit mini from Amazon. I'd say it was fairly neat. Just one observation: WiFi does not always connect if the chrome door flap is in the down (closed) position.

Whilst I am an qualified electronics engineer, the issue here is actually more fundamental. When the charging cable is inserted, the car then locked and subsequent multiple buzz/whirring noises heard, the charging plug has not been mechanically locked into placed and can be pulled back out...

The suggestion from @Jto provides a good workaround: holding the charger plug upwards when locking the car must ensure the lock pin engages first time. Now I never miss a charge sessìon due to failed comms or some other MG anomally! Thank you.
