    MG5 facelift Review Thread

To be fair to MG, this also happened to the Ora Kat on his test so I don't think it's isolated to MG. I'm sure I've also heard about it happening to Ioniqs (can't recall the source, sorry). If I'm mistaken on the last point then maybe it is just Chinese cars.

    MG5 SR Headlights

I've just been to Wales and back with a fair bit of driving at night on roads with streetlights and without. I found the lights to be ok. They're obviously not as bright as the LED lights on my previous car, but they were acceptable. I had considered changing the bulbs to the Osram...

    Hesitation

I often drive in eco - there is not hesitation. All that mode does is dampen the surge of power when you put your foot down. I only use it to mitigate my lead foot.

Which roof box and rails system are you all using?

I bought a box and thule rails from "the roof box company" using their mg5 configurator, thanks. Hopefully putting it all together and on the car won't be beyond my (very) meagre skills.

Which roof box and rails system are you all using?

I went into Halfords with a view to getting a roof box as we're going to Wales in a couple of weeks and the 5 is a bit smaller than my past couple of cars. When the guy put my reg into their database all that was coming up were rails with suction cups for £500. I'm not keen on that, so what...

Do I wait for my zs ev or mg5

That's a better deal than mine. I pay £368 per month for 6k per year. I only put down around a £3k deposit including small equity in my 70 plate Kodiaq (I think). If it's the facelift I would say go for it but if you've been on the list for a ZS for a while and likely to get the pan roof I...

Do I wait for my zs ev or mg5

I answered someone else's questions about the 2 cars in a different thread, but will say it again here, assuming you're talking about the non facelift MG5. I bought the MG5, though I prefer the looks of the ZS. What clinched it for me was the bigger boot space in the 5, which I need. A couple...

    MG5 or ZS EV

I looked at both. I preferred the looks of the ZS but boot space was my priority (4 dogs) so went for the 5. IIRC the difference is around 80 litres. Range wise, the LR ZS should achieve around 20 miles more from a full charge, which is negligible to me. Another couple of factors that decided...

2023 MG5 is it just a facelift or has charging been improved?

Not as fast as the MG4. still 90kw iirc.

    When's the next MG5 delivery?!!

There is thread for the Hatchbag liner. I fitted one to mine and it's great.

    When's the next MG5 delivery?!!

Mine tried it on massively as usual. For rear tints they wanted £470. I paid around £200 for a great job locally. I didn't even ask how much paint protection was going to be as I could see they were just trying to have my eyes out.

    Hard to see MG5s

I saw my first mk2 ZS EV in the wild today. 22 plate white one in Chelmsford. The number of MG5s I've seen around outnumbers the mk.2 ZS by 4 to 1.

    MG ZS EV Shipping Updates

Cupra Born more expensive than either of those 2? Wow. Both of those are £200 more per month than I pay for my MG5. I could afford it but that's money I could have been saving or investing. As nice as both of those cars are, I wouldn't be wanting to pay that much for cars with smaller boot...

Love this car even more now!

I think I’d shit my pants if I drove something that fast.

    Chargers in Pembrokeshire

Great, thanks. Will definitely have to try some, assuming it's open (showing as temporarily closed on google maps)

    Chargers in Pembrokeshire

Newgale had 7kw chargers? I'll have to take a look, thanks. It's not far from where we stay so it's usually our go-to beach provided the tides fit out schedule.

    Chargers in Pembrokeshire

Wow, that bad eh? We'll be coming in from the M4 so I'll have to take a look at Tenby thanks. I may also have to speak to the owner of where we're staying about paying extra to charge on the granny charger. Thanks for replying.

    Chargers in Pembrokeshire

Hi all, We're heading to Pembrokeshire next month and staying near Haverfordwest. I've looked on zap map and the rapid charger situation seems fairly shit. Is there anyone who lives locally or has experience of the area can recommend reliable fast chargers in or around there please? Thanks

Love this car even more now!

Just kept it in eco and floored it. Still managed 3.8 compared to the usual 4.2 on the way home.

Love this car even more now!

I'm ashamed to admit to feeling juvenile pleasure at completely smoking a BMW 5 series who tried to race away from the lights and cut into my lane. I think he was a little shocked to be left in my wake. The most enjoyable thing about it was I was in eco and trying (and failing) to keep within...
